Stages 3–5: OCSC → PDC → International
Stages / Rounds
Stage 3 — Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC)
- Top 30–35 students from the Indian National Olympiad are invited
- Held at HBCSE (Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education), Mumbai
- Orientation for Olympiad-level theoretical, experimental, and observational tasks
- Several selection tests held during the camp
- 4–6 students selected to represent India
Stage 4 — Pre-Departure Camp (PDC)
- Selected team undergoes 8–10 days of rigorous training at HBCSE
- Advanced problem-solving, experimental techniques, and mock competitions
Stage 5 — International Olympiad
- 4–6 students accompanied by 4 teachers/mentors
- Competition includes theory and practical/experimental rounds
- Gold, Silver, Bronze medals and Honourable Mentions awarded
- India has won several Gold and Silver medals across all 4 Olympiad subjects
NSEP, INPhO, and Olympiad Depth
Stages / Rounds
NSEP follows school-level syllabus base but demands olympiad-level modeling and problem depth beyond typical entrance prep.
- Stage flow: NSEP -> INPhO -> OCSC -> international teams
- Recent MAS/MI trends vary; rely on official yearly sheets
